Bio: Ellen Swain
Ellen Swain is the Archivist for Student Life and Culture at the University of Illinois Archives.
She administers the Archives' Student Life and Culture Archival Program, an endowed program devoted to documenting
student life and culture at the University of Illinois and nationally. Her research interests include the role of
oral history as a documentation strategy in the academic archives and she currently is working on a study of
University of Illinois student life during the 1920s and 1930s, based in part on her oral history project with
forty-four UI alumni who graduated from the University in 1927-39.
