Bio: Dorothee Schneider

Dorothee Schneider is a Lecturer in Unit One and History and is also on the Campus Honors Faculty. Since 1997 she has been a Graduate College Scholar in the Department of Sociology. She is the author of numerous articles and has authored, co-authored, or edited a number of books, including Trade Unions and Community: The German Working Class in New York City, 1870-1900 (University of Illinois Press, 1994). She is currently at work on a social history of American citizenship and naturalization (1906-1996).
