Bio: Steve Lamos

Steve Lamos is a graduate student in Writing Studies and Director of the UIUC Writers Workshop. Lamos' dissertation research seeks to understand the function of racialized discourses in the evolution of Special Educational Opportunity Program (SEOP) Rhetoric at UIUC. He is also presently leading several projects with Prof. Richard Gumport of the Medical School designed to increase the amount and quality of scientific writing instruction on campus. Their 2002-2003 project, the Life Science Writing Pedagogy Program, will train 36 life science graduate students to teach scientific writing.
